Whitby seems to have it all.
Whitby seems to have it all. Narrow cobbled streets, lovely harbour, every type of food you could want, lots of Jet shops and fossil shops, walks on and beside the beach and of course the famous climb up to the Abbey. Casa Nostra Italian restaurant is a pleasant place to eat and spend the evening. Plenty of pubs and bars of every type.
24hr parking around the harbour is £8.20- £10.80.

A nice place to visit with some interesting sights and shops. However far too many fish and chip restaurants - what happens if someone does not want fish and chips, or is staying for a few days, as we planned to do? there is (or appears to be) very little alternative cuisine options.

We love Whitby it’s got everything x my husband and I love the nightlife and shops and everyone is friendly x we stay quite often it’s home from home x cosa nostra and the vault are fantastic places to eat but book in advance x some great shops skirts and shirts is my favourite. The Whitby way, little angel , elsinoire and granby are some of our favourite pubs for live music x
The room we had was just a basic double. It was clean, warm and comfortable with a view of the Abbey over the rooftops. The breakfast was fair but I thought the bacon was too hard to cut or eat, sausage ok and the fried egg was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked the hotel by searching whitby hotel with parking however didn't realise this was street parking if you can find a space or in a car park away from the hotel. So i shouldnt have assumed it had its own car park. All in all was a pleasant two day stay.
Staff were excellent; friendly and welcoming. Room clean and comfortable, with a great view over the harbour. Ensuite clean and a good size. Bed a little firmer than our own BUT comfortable never-the-less. Cooked breakfast was excellent and tasty. Rooms were above the bar area, therefore could hear some noise when customers were there, but not a problem and after hours was very quiet. Would very much consider a return if looking for hotel accommodation again in Whitby. Recommended.
Greatocatio for peace and quiet, not far to Whitby itself. Room. Very nice, strange lumpy mattress. Great views of the garden and visiting deer coming for the fallen apples.
Restaurant food OK messed up food order sides arrivedcafter mains. Wine very over priced for a standard sauvignon. Charlie waitress very friendly but made a mistake and I was over charged £80. Hotel quickly resolved on calling them. Hopefully a one off. Didn't visit the spa but looked good in the broucher.
This was an impressive holiday home near the centre of Whitby. There is an abundance of space to relax and enjoy this truly smartly dressed home, with a convenient private drive/parking space right outside the front door. The lovely enclosed garden was a perfect sun trap for some alfresco dining. Plus the added bonus of a sumptuous soak in the hot-tub after a long walk in town. Perfect in every way!
The location of the hotel was excellent, right on the harbour side. Checking in was easy with everything ready for us. The room had a great view of the abbey and was warm and comfy. There was a nice friendly atmosphere around the hotel and bar. Being in the centre of Whitby meant there was a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars to visit.
Our visit was a girlie weekend, celebrating a 60th birthday. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the train station so easy to find when you arrive in Whitby. Very friendly and informative greeting from reception at check in. The rooms were spacious, very clean and we all commented on our bathrooms smelling lovely.
The room had a very good view of the sea and well-placed chairs. The bed was comfortable. The man at reception was able to give us very helpful information about parking and the hotel also provided a limited number of spaces. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of Whitby.
The room was well set out and very comfortable, the hotel was very quiet and it suited our needs perfectly. The location was ideal to explore the whole of Whitby on foot. Breakfast was delicious and i was very happy that Gluten Free bread was provided on request.
Fabulous location, easy to find and hotel had reserved us a parking bay which made life easy.
We had superior room overlooking the harbour. View was wonderful. Room very spacious and clean. Bed was divine, so comfy.

The hotel couldn't be in a better spot in whitby. The room was a good size and in excellent condition. The pub was standard Witherspoon so you know exactly what your getting. All in all a very enjoyable 2 night stay
Lovely clean hotel, well kitted it rooms, easy check in. On road parking via a scratchcard worked well as we got a space the top of the road. Breakfast was ample and staff were very friendly.
Spacious room, firm, very comfortable bed. Just far enough out of the center of Whitby to be quiet at night but close enough to walk everywhere. Lovely town to visit - would visit again.
The room was very spacious and the welcome from the staff was great. The position of the hotel, along with parking, was excellent for walking to Whitby and enjoying food at the local pub.
The room was stunning, very comfortable, the views were amazing, staff were lovely, very welcoming & friendly, also keen to tell us the history of the hotel & Whitby Bay.
